چکیده
Element-by-element we have combined the optical components in the three 2MASS cameras, and incorporated detector quantum efficiency curves and site-specific atmospheric transmissions, to create three relative spectral response curves (RSRs). We provide the absolute 2MASS attributes associated with " zero magnitude " in the JHK s bands so that these RSRs may be used for synthetic photometry. The RSRs tie 2MASS to the " Cohen-Walker-Witteborn " framework of absolute photometry and stellar spectra for the purpose of using 2MASS data to support the development of absolute cali-brators for IRAC and pairwise cross-calibrators between all three SIRTF instruments. We examine the robustness of these RSRs to changes in water vapor within a night. We compare the observed 2MASS magnitudes of thirty three stars (converted from the precision optical calibrators of Landolt and Carter-Meadows into absolute infrared (IR) calibrators from 1.2–35 µm) with our predictions, thereby deriving 2MASS " zero point offsets " from the ensemble. These offsets are the final ingredients essential to merge 2MASS JHK s data with our other absolutely calibrated bands and stellar spectra, and to support the creation of faint calibration stars for SIRTF.

متن کاملThe calibration of scanning monochromators for the measurement of absolute irradiance.
Certain approximations commonly used in the absolute calibration of a scanning monochromator are examined in terms of the response of the instrument to a monochromatic input. The absolute irradiance due to any spectral feature in the neighborhood of lambda(0) is commonly computed from the expression W = AB(lambda(0))/H(lambda(0)) where A is the area of the spectral feature as recorded by the mo...

For the astronomical community analyzing ISO-SWS data, a first point to assess when judging and qualifying the observational data concerns the flux calibration accuracy. Since the calibration process is not straightforward and since a wrong calibration may lead to an over-or underestimation of the results, knowledge on the full calibration process and on the still remaining calibration problems...

The exclusive reaction γγ → f f̄γ is considered as the possible calibration process on the linear photon collider. We analyse the energy spectrum and total cross section dependence on the detector parameters at various initial beam helicities. 2 T. V. Shishkina, V. V. Makarenko
متن کاملDirect spectral measurements with a Brewer spectroradiometer: absolute calibration and aerosol optical depth retrieval.
We present three different methods for the absolute calibration of direct spectral irradiances measured with a Brewer spectroradiometer, which are shown to agree to within +/- 2%. Direct irradiance spectra derived by Brewer and Bentham spectroradiometers agree to within 4 +/- 3%. Good agreement was also found by a comparison of the aerosol optical depth and Angstrom exponent retrieved by the tw...
